ArtDocent/ Reflections Fall / Spring Reflections: PTA sponsored art program open to all students. Art Docent: Promote participation in FVD art programs.            labeling, matting and hanging artwork at home or on campus as convenient (schedule ASAP)
Art Masters throughout the year; once per month School-wide art program designed to introduce students to distinguished artists and their techniques. Atleast one for each class; attend a brief training each month, prepare materials, present and assist students with an art project once per month. Courreges Campus during school hours lectures are monthly           
Assemblies periodically (2 to 3 times) throughout the year Coordinate two to three assemblies during the year (as determined by the staff/administration). Work with staff and administration in organizing assemblies. Supervise during the various assemblies. Courreges Campus during school day NA
Band & Orchestra throughout the year Provide support to our orchestra and school band. Work with the director to coordinate two school concerts and one district-wide concert.  Also,  assist in distributing flyers and fundraising. primarily on Courreges Campus; some support work at home varies NA
Best Paw throughout the year Best Paw is a reading program open to all students. Students earn points by answering questions on the books they have read. Needed in each classroom to quiz children about the  reading material. Courreges Campus   Usually determined by teacher.  NA
BookFair Fall and Spring Book Fairs help to promote reading and help to build our school and classroom libraries. Set up displays, stock books, assist children in book selections, work the cash registers Courreges Campus during school hours; one evening during the Fall (Back to School Night);one evening during the Spring (Open House) Fall (week of Back to School Night ); Spring (week of Open House)               
Boxtops for Education throughout the year School-wide collection of Boxtops for Education to help raise funds for educational materials.  Collect and tally labels. home or on Courreges Campus at your convenience NA
Cougar Support Team throughout the year To involve parents in whatever capacity they are able:arts & crafts, data entry, graphics, finance, organizing, phone calling,   etc. This is for parents who have a specific skill or are available at certain hours during the week. Daffodil Days February/March PTA supports the American Cancer Society program of selling fresh daffodils through schools to help raise money for cancer research. Tally the order forms collected in February and, in March, help process the orders and distribute flowers to students. home and on campus some work can be done at home;  some on campus Spring
Directory September to October The Directory is a listing of all school staff and students; directories are produced by the PTA and sold for a nominal cost. Help collect and count money and  proofread directory. at home or on campus during school day Mon Envelope notice in Sept.
Disaster Preparedness September through November Coordinate the supply and storage of PTA funded disaster relief items kept in the large on-campus storage bins. Assist the chairperson as needed. Courreges Campus as convenient NA
End of Year Carnival June (event) This is a party for the entire school on the last day of attendence.  All activities (game booths, food, etc.) take place out doors, weather permitting. To solicit prize donations, construct, set up and break down booths and to work in the various booths during the carnival. Food Drive February Children bring canned goods to be donated to an organization.  Organize and distribute food collected. home or on campus at your convenience NA
Health and Welfare Nurse determines Provide assistance to the school nurse in screening students (vision and hearing).  PTA also participates in the district-wide Health Fair. Assist nurse Screening: on Courreges Campus  Screening is done during school hours. NA
Jog-a-thon event takes place in the Spring Jog-a-thon is the school's primary fundraiser and the primary source of the PTA budget.  Children obtain financial sponsors for a school-wide jog-a-thon. Help with all aspects of the event: soliciting prize donations, data entry, administrative and/or computer support, promotion, event set-up, marking lap cards, distributing water, money collection/counting, prize selection, assembly, etc Anywhere and everywhere; actual event takes place on Courreges Campus. Anytime you can help!  Jog-a-thon takes place during school hours. Kick off Assembly; Jog-a-thon  
Legislature year-long To represent Courreges at State PTA meetings; to keep our membership informed of current legislature involving schools and PTA. Assist in the event that the Chairperson is unable to serve as Courreges representative at  PTA meetings.     NA
Library Throughout the year; extra help needed at beginning of school year. Provide assistance to the school librarian. One for each classroom. Individual helps check school library books in and out; reshelve and assist librarian as needed. Courreges Library during school hours (short shifts) NA
Membership September to October Campaign to recruit parents and other adults to join the PTA Help run the campaign, collect and count dues, distribute membership cards, award prizes. at home or on campus at your convenience NA
Monday Envelopes throughout the year Each Monday, envelopes containing various school communications and informational materials are sent home to parents. Assist with organizing and stuffing envelopes each week (on a rotating schedule). ESP Room 31 Every Monday; 9:45 a.m. NA

Physical Fitness Testing Fall and Spring Children are tested in a national program to determine their level of physical fitness (fall & spring). Testing children and recording results. Courreges Campus during school hours (in shifts) NA
Publications throughout the year The chairperson photocopies,organizes and  distributes PTA sponsored communications. as backup photocopying occurs at District Office; distribution on campus as convenient weekly

Red Ribbon Week October Red Ribbon is a national drug-resistance program designed to increase awareness of the dangers of drugs.  Various activities occur all week. To organize, bag, and deliver items to each classroom.  Courreges Campus Events occur during school; preparation work can be done at home.  Coincide with District 
Room Parent/ Assistant throughout the year Assist w/ two class parties, recruit  volunteers for Jog-a-thon and End-of-Year Carnival,  coordinate teacher appreciation week,distribute snacks during Star and Benchmark testing,4th and 5th-recruit volunteers for physical fitness testing. Atleast one for each class; act as either Room Parent or Assistant(s). Preparation for parties, etc can be done at home; parties and events take place on campus. Spiritwear Fall/Spring Sale of Courreges School logo clothing for children and adults to promote "Cougar Pride". Assist in tallying and filling orders and distributing filled orders to classrooms. at home and on campus at your convenience NA
Talent Show Spring Courreges Talent Show is a school-wide event open to all students.  Shows are held during school hours for the  students and one evening for parents. Help supervise afternoon rehearsals, school and evening performance.  Assistance needed with program design, stage set-up and clean-up. Shows and rehearsals take place on campus; some preparation is done at home. Mostly, during the day and after school.  Set-up, etc. is in the evening. June
Teacher Appreciation usually in May A  week dedicated to honoring our teachers. PTA sponsors a luncheon and various activities throughout the week.
