Orange County March and Rally Protesting State Budget Cuts

When: Thursday, May 15, 2008 - 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Where: Plaza Of The Flags** - Civic Center, Santa Ana

4th District PTA and the other members of the Orange County Education Coalition* urge you to join the Orange County Central Labor Council in a protest against state budget cuts affecting workers, seniors, and especially children.

Scheduled just after the release of the May Revise budget and located at a visible, central location in the county, this is the one, big event to show the force of our numbers!

Bring some friends...bring your kids...carpool & caravan…

Ana City Council Chambers and the new OC Courthouse.

With the short fall in state revenue in taxes, the State of California plans to cut budget in a massive way for the Education budget.  The proposed cuts are:

• $4.4 Billion for next school year - 2008-2009

• Plus $400 Million now for 2007-2008

As a PTA member, we urge you to write to our State Senator and Assembly Person now before the State Legislature votes.  Download "ready to go" letters, update your name, print and mail now.

Remember, every letter they receive, they literally mark on their whiteboard a count, and the larger the count, the more they will work for us.  Don't wait.
