2007 Courreges Tile Wall Event

It’s our 2nd annual tile wall event!!! Last year we began this very exciting project with wonderful results! Step into the bowl to view the amazing tile wall our Cougar Families created!!

Once again, we are offering tiles for painting at $35.00 each to memorialize yet another fantastic year in the life of your child. Your children will be able to come back years later to reminisce about their special memories at Courreges Elementary School! Children may paint a tile, parents may paint one, or you can create a special family tile!

Use the space on the attached form to sketch your artwork. The artwork will be transferred to the tiles with carbon paper on the day of the painting. Tile designs are due by Monday, Aril 30th.

Our painting session will be held on Thursday, May 3 2007 from 1:00 to 4:00 in the bowl area.

Use your imagination, but please do not use any commercial characters (i.e., Disney or Pokemon—due to licensing issues). Artwork can be simple or detailed. The main goal is to capture the simplicity of your child’s artwork.

2006 Courreges Tile Wall Event

We are starting a very special project here at Roch Courreges School. In the spirit of our campus beautification and pride in the students of our school—we will be creating a tile wall in the bowl area. Proceeds from this special event will fund playground equipment and classroom sound systems (see the important information attached)…

Our students—past and present—will have the opportunity to paint a tile—

that will be installed permanently on the wall at school.

Future generations of Cougars may have the pleasure of viewing your artwork…many years from now.

We hope that this will become a tradition until we fill all the walls in the bowl (maybe this year!) But, in keeping with the theme of our “character building“ assembly programs for 2005-2006, this year’s tile wall theme is “Cougar Character Counts!”

Tiles are available for sale at $35 each.

We ask that each child paint only ONE tile; but parents may paint one for themselves. Or, you can paint a single, family tile.

Two painting sessions will be

 held December 1, 2005 -- from 12:30 to 3:30… AND…5:00 to 8:00 PM

Use your imagination, but please do not use commercial characters (i.e., Disney or Pokemon—due to licensing issues). Artwork can be simple or detailed—THE MAIN GOAL IS TO CAPTURE THE SIMPLICITY OF YOUR CHILD’S ARTWORK. If your child needs help in drawing, you can use stencils that are available in most craft stores or trace your artwork from copyright free material. YOUR DESIGN MAY BE OUTLINED IN BLACK PAINT AFTER YOUR CHILD IS DONE PAINTING. Please keep this in mind when creating your artwork because small details may be lost in the outlining.

Cougar Tile Wall Project

A huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who participated December 1st. And...for all of you Cougars who missed out on the tile wall painting event...or who ordered a tile and were not able to come paint your artwork--don't fret. We will be holding a make-up day next year.  You can either wait for that day OR go directly to the shop and paint your tile there over the holiday:

• if you have already paid and ordered a tile, please contact Sue Carlson at 714.962.3471 for your voucher and instructions
• if you have NOT already paid and ordered a tile...please submit your payment and a tile order form for each tile (forms are in the office or on the website) to the Courreges office. Your artwork will be returned to you with a voucher and instructions for painting at the shop.

We hope to have the first wall installed early next year. Look for announcements regarding the unveiling of the fantastic art contributions to the First Cougar Tile Wall!
