Fall 2008 Book Fair Thank you
and Wrap Up
Congratulations Courreges
Families!
Thanks to all of you, we had our best Book Fair yet! We sold over
$12,000 worth of Scholastic Books which means a net profit of $3,100
for our Courreges PTA. We also brought over $800 worth of books into
our library. Thank you to all of the families who generously donated
books to our classrooms and to the library. These books will be
enjoyed by all of our students for many years to come!
We also want to give a big "Cougar Thank You" to all of the parents
who volunteered! We could not have done this without you!

Courreges Book Fair Committee

Dear Parents and Families,
Word is spreading that the Scholastic Book
Fair Safari will soon be arriving here at Courreges with loads of
great books on Monday, September 15th through Friday, September
19th. Our Book Fairs are one of the highlights of the school year
and we’re wildly excited about this one.
Look for the Book Fair leaflet that will be
coming home with your student(s). It spotlights just a few of the
many titles that will be available. Every student will visit the
fair with their class sometime next week, and we hope you’ll also
stop by to see our fantastic selection of books for all ages.
Volunteers will be there to help the children, and they can make
their purchases with cash or checks made out to Courreges PTA.
Adults can also pay by credit card.
The Book Fair always gets our students
excited about reading and it’s also a great opportunity to:
- Get a chance to purchase exclusive
editions of popular books with special low prices. - Donate new
books to your child’s class. Teachers will fill their "WISH LIST
BOXES" with books that will enrich their classroom libraries.
You can then purchase one or more to donate. Each donated book
will be recognized with a book plate identifying your child or
family as the donor.
- Purchase BOOK GIFT CERTIFICATES. You
can buy them in any amount to give to teachers or our librarian.
They can then come to the fair and spend these just like cash.
In the past, parents have found the teacher’s "Wish List Boxes"
empty, so this is another way to donate to the classrooms or
library.
- Get an early start on your holiday
shopping.
The Book Fair will be located on the stage
in the multipurpose room and will be open:
- Monday through Wednesday from 8:00a.m.
to 3:00p.m.
- Thursday from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
- Friday from 8:00a.m. to 10:30a.m.
(through recess)
We will also have a special time for
families to shop starting 1/2 hour before Back to School Night on
Thursday September 18th from 5:00p.m. to 7:45p.m.
And don’t forget...every purchase benefits
our school directly by supporting field trips,
our computer lab, assemblies, classroom
enhancements, our library and more!
