COURREGES PTA NEEDS YOUR FEEDBACK!
It is time to consider increasing our
membership dues…
For about 10 years, a PTA membership
has cost $5. BUT - the 4th District PTA has notified us that it will
now be collecting $.50 from each membership we secure rather than
$.35.
Your current $5 membership goes
a long way….
|
$1.75 |
Is
sent to the National PTA to develop education resources,
awareness for education and support legislation |
|
$1.25 |
Is
sent to the State PTA (volunteer-run) to support training
programs, secure insurance coverage and provide financial
guidance to local PTA’s. |
|
$.35 |
Is
sent to our 4th District PTA to help coordinate information
and policies
between the state and our region |
|
$ .25 |
Is
sent to our Huntington Union Council PTA to help them also
coordinate
information, policies and training for local PTA volunteers. |
|
$1.40 |
…The
balance stays in our PTA’s budget to support our
school’s programs. |
What do you think of an annual
membership for $6???
By increasing a Courreges PTA
membership by only one dollar, we can
-
Keep memberships affordable enough for everyone
-
Cover the increase we will be required to submit to 4th District
beginning next fall
-
Be prepared for potential increases in the future from National,
State or Huntington Union levels
-
Raise a little more for our kids and the programs we support at
Courreges. This year, we have raised $700 through
memberships for our budget of $152,000.
Wouldn’t it be great to raise another $600+ through the same
number of memberships?
The Courreges PTA Board will need to
vote on a proposed new membership fee as part of its proposed bylaw
changes on January 11, 2008. This is necessary to submit
proposed changes to the union and district levels in time for our
members to be able to officially vote on the changes in the spring.
