Deadlines this week:   

• March PTA Meeting Back to Regular Schedule
  The March PTA general meeting will be held at its regularly scheduled date and time. Please plan to attend the PTA general meeting on Wednesday, March 10th, at 8:15 AM in room 5. We will be voting for next year's officers.
   

Current PTA Information:

• Parenting Forum March 18, 6:30pm
  Parents-- Are you tired of the same homework battles? Want your kids to listen to you the first time? Then come to the parents' forum on Thursday, March 18th, at 6:30 PM in the Courreges multi-purpose room. Author and child development specialist Sandy Spurgeon McDaniels will present new ways to get your kids to listen to instruction without fighting. She will also be promoting her latest book, Don’t Feed the Dragon. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to fine-tune your parenting skills. • Best Paw Super Reader Prize Winners must have 60 points by March 23rd!!
  All Students in K - 2nd that wish to receive a Super Reader Prize must have 60 points by March 23rd. All prizes will be delivered by March 26th so the students will have their Cougar Bucks for the Book Fair, which starts on March 29th. All other prizes, including earning 30 points for the ice cream party, can still be earned to the end of the program on Monday, May 3rd. The ice cream party will be on Thursday, May 20th. • It’s Jog-a-thon time at Courreges!!!! – UPDATED
  The 2010 All-Star Jog-a-thon is now underway. With the budget cuts we have already experienced and the anticipated future cuts, it is more important than ever to make sure our Jog-a-thon is successful. To earn the opportunity to come to Prize Day your child must raise a minimum of $150, so please collect those pledges. Remember, DO NOT let your child go door-to-door without an adult. •  The Spring "Buy One, Get One Free" Book Fair is scheduled for March 29
   through April 1-NEW
  The Spring Scholastic Book Fair is opening Monday, March 29th. If you are able to volunteer for the Book Fair, please contact Carolyn Wang at 714-848-0504 or qcwang@msn.com. Please check the schedule for available volunteer times:

• Carl’s Jr. is Coming to Courreges!
  On April 1, during our Spring Open House, the Carl’s Jr. truck will be at Courreges to help our 4th Graders raise money for their Outdoor Education trip in 5th grade. Pre-sale meal tickets are being sold now through March 23. Please click here for the order form: Carls Jr Flyer
   

• Don’t Forget to Bring Your DOUG’s to School - UPDATED 
  DOUG's are "Duplicate or Unwanted Gifts". Due to very limited funds, we are relying entirely on DOUG’s to provide the prizes to inspire our students.  It is very important to motivate our students to work hard to collect pledges and run laps to raise money. The money raised from the Jog-a-thon supports virtually all the programming at Courreges including MIND Math, Art Masters, Computer Lab and field trips. Please keep in mind that these prizes are intended for students aged 6-11—baby and preschool toys are not likely to inspire our students. The Jog-a-thon committee will be accepting donations of DOUG's in the basket located in the PTA room.
